ACP/ARP Radar Azimuth Converter

The BBG-ACP/ARP is a converter that computes TRUE and RELATIVE Azimuth Reference Pulses and Azimuth Change Pulses for radar systems. These signals, combined with the radar video signal, enable display of the radar situation picture on many commercial and military radar consoles.

The BBG-ACP/ARP is a stand-alone converter that interfaces with both commercial and military radar systems. It receives azimuth angle information from a radar system and generates one Azimuth Reference Pulse (ARP) and 4096 Azimuth Change Pulses (ACP) per radar sweep revolution. The radar signals are connected via a 25-pin (DB25P) connector, while the ARP and ACP signals are output through a 37-pin (DC37S) connector. Powered by 115V, 60Hz AC, the BBG-ACP/ARP configures itself during power-up, then performs synchro to digital conversion to provide the azimuth reference and change pulses for each radar sweep angle.
